KLA Kyoto-Chuo is located in Gojo karasuma, one station by subway from the JR Kyoto Station. Kyoto is famous for its vast world heritage sites and traditional cultures. It is also known for being a college town, being a host to a variety of famous universities. At Kyoto-Chuo school,students inprove their Japanese communication skills through study of Japanese culture, experiences unique to old Kyoto where traditional culture remains, and interations with Japanese people.Additinally, the school is also implementing measures for FJU and JLFT.
Course Features
Practical Japanese & Career Path Classes
In these classes, we enhance practical Japanese communication skills while implementing instruction tailored to each student’s desired career path.
Practical Japanese
This class enhances practical communication skills through various tasks involving “listening,” “reading,” “speaking (interaction and presentation),” and “writing.” Through this process, students also carefully learn the linguistic knowledge (vocabulary, grammar, and kanji) necessary for tasks one by one, developing the language abilities that support these activities.
Career Path Classes
While “academic advancement” is a single term, the skills required during entrance examinations and after enrollment differ depending on whether one aims for university, graduate school, or vocational school. Career Path Classes are designed to help students acquire the necessary skills according to their desired career paths. In the first year, students develop their Japanese expression skills with a focus on conveying their experiences and opinions to others. They also learn fundamental knowledge about career path selection in Japan. In the second year, purpose-specific classes are organized according to each desired career path, with instruction focused on the skills required for academic advancement and after enrollment. By connecting with peers who share the same dreams and progressing together, students cultivate the ability to learn independently and walk their own path.
Reaching Planner
Kyoshin’s original “Reaching” is a habit-forming tool for achieving goals. At KLA, we utilize the Reaching Student Planner and incorporate three steps—envisioning goals × taking action × reflecting—into daily class time. Through this initiative, we cultivate each individual’s ability to learn and act independently toward realizing their dreams. Specifically, students engage in the following steps during class:
- Reaching Goal Setting: At the beginning of each month, students set their monthly goals toward their dreams.
- Routine Check: Students decide what to do daily to achieve their goals and check it every day.
- Monthly Results and Reflection: At the end of the month, students review their routine checks and write their reflections.
Level-Based Classes and Purpose-Based Classes
To meet the needs of our multinational and multi-purpose student body, we offer two types of classes: level-based classes and purpose-based classes.
Level-Based Classes
Classes according to students’ Japanese language proficiency level, providing general Japanese language instruction.
Purpose-Based Classes
Classes according to students’ career path and academic advancement goals, providing Japanese language instruction required for their desired career paths.

Can briefly state opinions and explain reasons for plans on familiar topics. Can respond to less everyday situations by gathering information or asking for help.
Japanese Expression II ①
Learn JLPT N2 level sentence patterns and vocabulary to be able to convey what one wants to express with rich expressions. Acquire linguistic knowledge (vocabulary and grammar) to handle JLPT N2.
Career Path II
Can think independently about one’s future and career path and proactively make necessary preparations. Can use the Reaching Planner to autonomously plan and implement actions toward one’s goals.
