- Reaching
- Through Japanese language instruction, Kyoshin Language Academy Group aspires to assist students in realizing their dreams. This is why we have all our students use the Reaching Student Diary. Using the unique KLA method known as “reaching,” students are able to think and act on their own by achieving their goals. We fully support our students so that they can develop into an independent student of this kind!
- Learning Methods based on Brain Science
- KLA recommends that students use the neuroscience-based learning methodology advocated by neuroscience researcher and professor at the University of Tokyo Dr. Yuji Ikegaya. We instruct our students so that the can learn the Japanese language in an efficient manner utilizing the brain’s mechanisms.
- Praise-Based Teaching
- KLA practices praise-based teaching so that it may become the school at which students most want to study in Japan. When students are praised and spoken to with positive language, it increases their motivation for Japanese language study, and they are able study the language in a more enjoyable manner. We practice praise-based teaching in the belief that happiness and fun are the keys to improvements in Japanese language ability!
Educational Policy and Philosophy
In KLA, the “KLA Rules for Instructors” is the basic policy and philosophy to conduct classes every day.
There are seven items that are valued by KLA teachers.
Lesson style
-
Group lessons
-
Project work
-
Extracurricular lessons
- Group lessons
- Our group lessons are even attentive to the classroom layout so as to increase the effectiveness of the lessons!
Our classrooms are assigned according to different needs. For students whose am is to go on to higher education, we use a lecture-style layout. For students for whom conversation is important, we use a U-shaped classroom layout. - Project work
- Japanese is a tool to communicate your thoughts!
Using the Japanese that you have learned, research a particular theme, have a discussion, or make a presentation.
Project work is something that will improve a diverse range of skills in addition to your Japanese language skills. - Extracurricular lessons
- This is an opportunity to use the Japanese you have learned!
Many schools have adopted extracurricular lessons as an opportunity for the students to come into contact with living Japanese of the kind that cannot be found in textbooks and to talk with people other than school teachers in Japanese.
The teachers
KLA has brought together many excellent teachers!
Our teaching staff work on improving their teaching skills each day in order to help realize their students’ dreams.
KLA supports our hardworking teachers.

- Class questionnaire (conducted twice yearly)
- Study groups at each of the schools
- External training participation support
