Regarding the KLA Group’s Response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We express our sincere condolences to those who have suffered due to infections from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak centered in Wuhan, Hubei province, People’s Republic of China.

The KLA Group currently manages ten different schools in Japan. Many exchange students from China are enrolled in these schools. In order to ensure the peace of mind and safety of all our enrolled students in face of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have listed the actions we are currently taking below.

Let it be noted:

1Regarding maintaining hygiene within the school and providing support to students

Ventilation of the school building, disinfection of the doors and elevator buttons that are often touched, providing masks to students

without masks, directing the washing of hands, etc. in multiple languages. Our faculty is also listening and providing information to

  students who are feeling anxious.

2Regarding students who had to return to China due to personal circumstances before returning to Japan

As a general rule, we will be requesting these students to stay in their dorms or apartments for 14 days. We are providing support

for daily temperature reporting and studying from home for these students.

3Regarding students who will be attending starting from April onwards (Current plan)

Currently, we are planning on receiving these students according to the normal schedule.

Regarding students that will be entering Japan from China, we plan to have them stay in their dorms or apartments for 14 days just

in case and allow them to attend normally if no health related problems are observed. There will be several formalities that need to

be completed immediately after these students arrive in Japan, and the school will provide information for the students. Furthermore,

we will support these students so they can study from home.
